Please note, these controllers are built to order and have a lead time of 10 days.
The SBTC01 temperature controller uses an Omron E5CB PID Controller with SSR (Solid State Relay) output.
The PID controls a Fotek SSR-25 DH-H Solid State Relay. This relay is capable of handling 25A. We source our SSR relays direct from Fotek in Taiwan, there are many copies available on well known auction websites which are cheaper than going direct to Fotek but they are never genuine.
Power to the PID controller is applied by switching the red toggle switch on the front panel.
It is important to isolate the controller from the AC supply when it’s not in use, do not rely on red front panel switch only.
The rear panel houses all the connections;
There are two thermal magnetic over current protection devices on the rear panel.
The top one is rated at 3A and protects the PID controller.
The bottom one is rated at 20A and protects the heating element.
Below the two over current protection devices is the Thermocouple socket.
The PID is configured to use “K Type” thermocouples. If you want to use a different type the PID will have to be reconfigured.
The PID controller is supplied configured to operate in PID mode. Please refer to the operating manual for information on configuration options.
AC power input is on a Blue Neutrik Power Con connector which is rated at 20A.
AC power output to the heating element is on a White Neutrik Power Con connector which is rated at 20A.
Neutrik Power Con connectors are used widely in the professional Audio and Lighting business.
They are extremely robust and have locking mechanisms to prevent accidental disconnection.
Maximum load not exceed 3kW or 20A
